Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Pork Roast Roll

A twist on the traditional turkey and stuffing meal idea, this recipe for making bacon wrapped pork roast roll with flavorful homemade apple-infused stuffing will be a definite hit that all will enjoy.

If you want to make an easy one-pan main dish, then simply add a mix of sweet and white potatoes in the roasting pan with the pork loin. After about an hour of roasting time, add the peeled, sliced and salted potato wedges in to the pan with the pork roast roll for baking.

Equipment and/or Kitchen Accessories Needed

A non-stick frying pan to preparing the homemade stuffing will be needed. As well as a medium sized roasting pan with lid for baking the pork loin. But if you want to also bake the potatoes in the pan at the same time, then a larger sized roasting pan is recommended.

You will also need some baker’s twine to hold the pork loin roll in place.

  • pork loin about 3” wide x 10” long
  • salt and pepper for taste
  • 6 pieces of bacon

Stuffing Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cups green onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 large apple diced
  • 2 cups mushrooms finely chopped
  • 3 slices white toast bread or hamburger buns or hot dog buns
  • 2 tbsp milk


  • Slice pork loin in half lengthwise but not entirely through. Pound with meat pounder to make tender and flat (for rolling).
  • Season the pork loin with salt and pepper and put aside for time being.

Prepare the Stuffing

  • Saute onions with garlic in a pan with heated oil.
  • In a medium sized bowl, pour milk over top of the bread. With your hands, squueze out the excess milk and break the bread into small pieces.
  • Add apples, mushroom and pieces of bread to the pan.
  • Add salt and pepper and other spices (such as Italian seasoning or Vegeta if desired).
  • Continue sauteing for 7-10 minutes.
  • Spread the stuffing down the center of the prepared pork loin.
  • Fold over one long side over to the other side encasing the stuffing inside. Wrap a piece of baker’s twine to hold it closed or alternatively, use toothpicks to hold the sides together.
  • Wrap bacon around the rolled pork loin.
  • Move to a roasting pan with 1 cup of water and cover with a lid.
  • Bake 380F for one hour then uncover and continue baking for 20 minutes.
  • Broil for the last 5 minutes to give bacon color and make crispy, turn the pork loin as needed (approx. 3 times) until bacon is cooked.
  • Remove from the oven and move to the cutting board.
  • Cut into 1” wide slices and serve.
