Although if you enjoy caramalized apples, you should definitely try this granola dipped caramel apple recipe.
Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert, made from slow-baked egg whites and powdered sugar mixture. The egg whites take on a crispy texture on the outside but are left soft and gooey on the inside; whereas meringue on it’s own is crispy and dry throughout.

- 4 egg whites
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp cream of tartar (or white vinegar)
- 2 tsp corn flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 medium sized apples
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ⅛ tsp grated nutmeg
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp caramel sauce
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 tbsp chopped almonds (optional)
How to Make this Easy Pavlova Recipe:
Preparing the Meringue
In a clean bowl, place the egg whites and start to whisk it with an electric whisk or a stand mixer until it forms soft peaks.
Gradually and very slowly start adding the sugar as the egg whites are whisking, keeping the mixer on a low speed.
Once all the sugar is mixed in properly and dissolved into the egg whites, add the vanilla, sprinkle the corn flour, cream of tartar and salt over the whipped meringue and whisk it once again.
The meringue should look thick and glossy and should hold firm peaks.
Line a baking sheet with a parchment paper.
Scoop out the whipped meringue in the centre of the sheet and start to spread it to give it a circular shape.
Don’t flatten it too much.
Bake the meringue in a preheated oven at 230F for 90 minutes.
Let it cool completely before assembling.
Preparing the Caramalized Apple Topping
For the apple topping, put the butter and brown sugar in a pan and place it on medium heat.
Add in the apples, spices and salt and then cook the apples for a few minutes until they start to soften.
Put the apples aside and let this cool completely.
Assembling the Pavlova
For assembling, place the cooled pavlova on a serving plate and add the whipped cream on top and spread it slightly. Top it with the cooked apples and drizzle some caramel sauce. You can also scatter some chopped nuts over top for extra crunch!
