  • 1lb Swiss chard
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of chopped red onions
  • 1/2 cup of cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup walnuts (optional)
  • ¼ cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 lemon zest

How To Make Parmesan Swiss Chard

  • After washing, cleaning and drying the Swiss chard, cut it in half.
  • Add to salted boiling water and cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain, saving 1 cup of boiled water aside.
  • In a frying pan, add 2 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp olive oil and heat. 
  • Add garlic and onions and saute for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  • Add Swiss chard and mix all together. Add the cup of boiled water.
  • Add the tomatoes and cook for another 10 minutes on medium heat.
  • Season with pepper and lemon zest. 
  • Top with parmesan cheese (and walnut halves if desired) and serve.
