Ingredients For Honey And Oat Bread

  • 4 ⅓ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp quick rise yeast, levelled
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water + ¾ cup warm water (for yeast)

Directions For Honey And Oat Bread

  • Mix yeast with warm water and sugar. Leave it to rise for about 7-10 minutes.
  • Mix dry ingredients – flour and oats.
  • Add oil, honey, and salt. 
  • Add yeast mixture.
  • Add one more cup of warm water.
  • Continue mixing for about 7-10 minutes.
  • Remove from the mixing bowl. Add 1-2 tbsp and knead by hand. Leave it on a floured countertop covered with a bowl. Leave for 40 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Knead again and divide the dough into two to make two separate loaves.
  • Grease the bread pans and place the dough inside.
  • Shape into a loaf and brush on another 1 tbsp of oil.
  • Optional – mix oats with coarse salt and sprinkle over top of the dough before baking. 
  • Cover with a paper towel or kitchen tea towel for another 30-40 minutes.
  • Bake at 400F for 25 minutes.
