Eton Mess Recipe Variations to Try

You can swap the strawberries for other fruits depending on what’s in season—

  • Raspberries, blueberries, or even chopped peaches all work well.
  • If you want to make it a bit more grown-up, try soaking your strawberries in a splash of elderflower cordial, limoncello, or a berry liqueur instead of using strawberry sprinkles.
  • For a dairy-free option, you can use whipped coconut cream or a plant-based yogurt.
  • For chocolate lovers, you can use chocolate meringue or add some grated chocolate to the cream for a rich, indulgent flavour.
  • If you’re after a bit of crunch, add some crushed nuts—hazelnuts or pistachios work beautifully—for a nutty contrast to the creaminess.
  • Even the meringue can be changed—store-bought is perfect for speed, but flavoured or homemade meringue adds another layer of personality. Whether you’re looking for fruity, nutty, or chocolatey, there’s a version of this dessert that fits the mood.

A Dessert Worth Repeating
