Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers Recipe

On special occasions such as football season game day, or holiday gatherings, it’s fun to make our favorite appetizers. From an easy DIY deli tray, to homemade honey garlic meatballs, putting out appetizers is a grat way to keep company satisfied while we catch up or are busy preparing dinner.

This jalapeno popper recipe is the perfect combination of fresh jalapenos wrapped in crispy bacon. The cream cheese filling helps to balance the naturally hot jalapeño peppers, creating a unique flavor. With just a few key ingedients, these jalapeno poppers are the perfect party appetizer and quite easy to make.

If you want to prepare the appetizer ahead of time, it’s no problem. Jalapeño poppers freeze well so you can assemble them in advance and place them in the freezer in an airtight container until ready to bake. Bake from frozen until poppers are cooked through and bacon is crispy and browned.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cream cheese room temperature
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 green jalapeno peppers medium to large size
  • 12 slices thin slices of bacon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and using a spoon, remove and discard the seeds.
  • Mix the cream cheese and cheddar cheese together with an electric mixer.
  • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the jalapeno pepper half.
  • Take a slice of bacon (uncooked) and wrap around the cheese filled pepper.
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the jalapeno poppers on top in a single layer. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and browned.
  • Serve immediately.
