What Makes This Roasted Cabbage Recipe so Great?

What makes this cabbage recipe great is the simplicity and versatility of it. You can use whatever ingredients you have on hand to make a delicious and unique dish every time. Roasted cabbage pairs well with protein such as chicken, fish, or tofu. It also makes a great side dish for any meal and can even be added to salads or sandwiches for an extra crunch.

Should Cabbage Be Soaked Or Washed Before Using?

Yes, cabbage should be properly washed before using. This is to remove any dirt, pesticides, or possible insects that may be on the leaves. Start by removing the outermost layer of leaves, which are often wilted and can harbor the most dirt. Hold the cabbage under cold running water, turning it to ensure all sides get thoroughly rinsed.

If you’re going to use the cabbage right away, cut it into the size you need for your recipe. Then, you can soak the cut cabbage in a bowl of cold water for a few minutes to remove any remaining dirt or grit. After soaking, drain the water and pat the cabbage dry with a clean kitchen towel or let it air-dry before using it.
