All About Mulberries Round Up
Don’t let the size of these little berries fool you, they are packed full of juicy goodness. Ripening fully in the late Spring to early Summer (in our area, South-Western Ontario, Canada). They possess just the right balance of sweet and tart flavors making them ideal for jams and preserves as well as fillings and tasty desserts.
I first discovered these little treasures at my house when this medium sized umbrella tree produced an abundant amount of mulberries one year. Not only can the mulberries be used to make a variety of recipes but we’ve often used the branches for crafting wreath forms such as this pumpkin shaped wreath and this pretty Spring wreath. I have since moved to a new house and I know I will miss this beautiful giving tree. Perhaps I’ll need to plant a new mulberry tree in my new yard!
