- 3 medium sized potatoes cut into cubes
- ½ med savoy cabbage chopped into cubes
- 1 tsp salt divided
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 small onion chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic chopped
Put 2 litres of salted water to boil.
Add potatoes and cabbage to boiling water.
Cook for 10-15 minutes until potatoes can be pierced through with a fork. Do not over cook.
Strain the water and save 1-2 cups of water/broth. Put the potato and cabbage mixture in a separate bowl for the time being.
Saute onion and garlic and a pinch of salt for 2 minutes to release the flavors.
Add the cooked potatoes and cabbage to the pot. Add black pepper and paprika.
Mix together and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If it appears to dry and sticks to the bottom, add 1 cup of boiled water.
