Ingredients

  • 1 pound puff pastry
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp rose petal jam
  • 3 drops red dye
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp heart sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the thawed dough on a board sprinkled with flour. Roll out one layer width wise to 1/6-inch thickness. Form 4 hearts with a cookie cutter mold. With a small mold, make heart holes in 2 of the hearts. Glue small hearts with water.
  • Form 2 layers in the same way. You will get 4 hearts with holes and 4 hearts without holes.
  • Line a baking tray with parchment. Arrange the hearts without holes. Spread the rose petal jam, leaving the edges empty.
  • Moisten the edges with water and cover the hearts with holes. Press the edges with your finger and then with a fork.
  • Brush the hearts with egg yolk using a silicone brush. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden. Cool the hearts completely.
  • For the glaze, add food coloring to the powdered sugar. Add water little by little to make the glaze thick like thickened milk. Spread the glaze on the hearts and sprinkle with sprinkles.
