- 8 Potatoes medium sized
- Vegetable Oil enough to cover potatoes in pan
- 1 tbsp Salt
Work in smaller batches. Don’t over fill the pan.
Cut potatoes into ¼”-½” thick wedges. Dab the moisture off the potatoes with a paper towel.
Fill a deep frying pan with vegetable oil about ½ way full and set to med-high setting.
Important to not over heat the oil. Check that the oil is ready by placing one cut fry into the oil. If oil sizzles, oil is ready.
Carefully place cut potatoes into the hot oil. Cook until ready approx 7 min, stirring occasionally to prevent fries from sticking together and cooking on all sides.
Remove fries from oil with a spatula and place in a paper towel lined bowl. The paper towel will soak up the excess oil.
Continue with remaining fries.
To get a crispier fry, return almost cooked french fries into the hot oil and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove and place into another paper towel lined bowl.
Sprinkle it with salt. Add as much or as little salt to taste.
Serve hot.
