Ingredients

  • 8 Potatoes medium sized
  • Vegetable Oil enough to cover potatoes in pan
  • 1 tbsp Salt

Instructions

  • Work in smaller batches. Don’t over fill the pan.
  • Cut potatoes into ¼”-½” thick wedges. Dab the moisture off the potatoes with a paper towel.
  • Fill a deep frying pan with vegetable oil about ½ way full and set to med-high setting.
  • Important to not over heat the oil. Check that the oil is ready by placing one cut fry into the oil. If oil sizzles, oil is ready.
  • Carefully place cut potatoes into the hot oil. Cook until ready approx 7 min, stirring occasionally to prevent fries from sticking together and cooking on all sides.
  • Remove fries from oil with a spatula and place in a paper towel lined bowl. The paper towel will soak up the excess oil.
  • Continue with remaining fries.
  • To get a crispier fry, return almost cooked french fries into the hot oil and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove and place into another paper towel lined bowl.
  • Sprinkle it with salt. Add as much or as little salt to taste.
  • Serve hot.
