Homemade Garlic Twist Recipe

These quick-rise garlic twists deliver that pillowy, golden perfection in a fraction of the time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • ½ tbsp yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tbsp italian seasoning
  • 3 tbsp salted butter melted

Instructions

  • Mix warm water, yeast and sugar together in a small cup and let it sit for 7-10 minutes.
  • Blend all flour and salt together with yeast mixture in a large bowl with a dough hook. Mix until the dough is well formed (about 7-10 minutes).
  • Cover the bowl with a tea towel and leave the dough for about 30-40 minutes until the dough is about double its size.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1” thick.
  • Cut dough into 2” strips and then cut strips in half lengthwise.
  • Create the twist by overlapping the two pieces from the top to the bottom.
  • Place twists on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Mix garlic powder, Italian seasoning and melted butter.
  • Brush over top of the twists.
  • Bake at 370F for 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven.
  • Brush remaining melted butter over top of baked twists. Serve warm.
