- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tbsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- pinch of cloves
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 ½ cups unsweetened applesauce
- Raisins and nuts optional
Preheat the oven 350F.
Grease a round or rectangular 9x13 pan or square 9x9 baking pan.
Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Combine all wet ingredients in a separate mixing bowl.
Add wet mixture to dry mixture gradually, combining with a wooden spoon.
Transfer to the pan and gently tap the sides to level the batter.
Combine brown sugar and cinnmon for a crumble topping and sprinkle over top of batter.
Bake for 35-40 minutes.
