Easy Homemade Dinner Roll Recipe

  • Mixer
  • 9"x12" deep dish pan


  • 4 cups flour unbleached white
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1.75 cups warm milk divided
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ cup butter at room temperature not melted
  • 2 tsp olive oil divided


  • In a mixer, mix together flour, salt, and butter.
  • Separately, combine ¾ cups warm milk, yeast and sugar in a small bowl and let it rest for 5-10 minutes until it rises.
  • Add the yeast mixture and 1 cup of warm milk to the flour mixture. Continue mixing for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove dough from bowl and knead by hand on a clean floured surface for 1 minute.
  • Cover the dough with a tea towel and let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Grease a 9"x12" deep dish pan with olive oil.
  • Divide dough into 12 pieces and work them into a ball shape as you place them inside the pan.
  • Brush on the remaining olive oil over top of the prepared dough.
  • Bake in oven at 390F for 30 minutes.
