beef

butter or vegetable oil

tomato paste

Instructions
Cook the meat for 3-5 minutes to drain out the liquid. Discard the liquid.
In a large pot saute onions for 3-4 minutes. Add meat and other ingredients and saute for 10-15 minutes.
In the meantime, dilute 1 can of tomato paste with 1 cup of water. Add to the sauteed mixture. Add 4 more cups of water to the pot.
Cover and simmer on low heat for 1-½ hours until meet is tender.
Notes
Instead of the stove-top, you could place the sauteed ingredients and water in a slow cooker for 5-6 hours.
